Hi, everyone, this is Doug, with this month's traffic report. Once a month, during the first part of the month, I send the report to the entire HUMOR list. Welcome to the month of May, 2001.

I am going to make you work for the Contributions of Humor. The jokes themselves will not be shown, only the link. Follow the link if you want to see what the joke is. For more information on this, see the Contribution of Humor section.

The subscribers are up again, but the jokes are down. Let's see if the existing Contributors can bring up the jokes or some of you new members become Contributors.

  • Maurizio was one of our sporadic Contributors in the first quarter of
2001. Here is information about him, in his own words.

I am Italian-born, but have spent the last 35 years of my life abroad
working for an American multinational, first based in the U.S. and
then in a number of countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Now I am retired and live in South Africa, the birthplace of my wife.

Where do I get my inspiration to write humour from (apart from
shameless plagiarism, that is)? Let's see..

Monty Python, The Voices in my head, The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the
Galaxy, Oscar Wilde, Dave Barry, TV SF shows, Adolescent sexual
fantasies, Zany lyrics, TV sitcoms, My First Treasury of Children's
Verse, Babelfish, Frasier, Fortune cookies, Karl Marx, The
Encyclopaedia Britannica, Computer jargon, Tom Lehrer, Roger
Peyrefitte, Typos, TV ads, John Thorpe, Groucho Marx, The
hippocampus, Genuine creativity (that accounts for about 0.0002%)

And finally, the one feature which has been featured in all
Traffic Reports, the Contribution of Humor. Since, I am not a
real regular contributor, I will not be providing new Humor.
Instead, I will provide a joke from the archives. It will be at
least 14 months old, so most of you won't remember it. I
will only provide a link to the joke, not the actual joke, although I
will provide the Subject line (Topic). Since there are now HTML
versions of all Digests, it will point to the joke itself.

My Contribution of Humor from the Archives:
