Hi, everyone, this is Doug, with this month's traffic report. Once a month, during the first part of the month, I send the report to the entire HUMOR list. Welcome to the month of June, 2000.

I am going to make you work for the Contributions of Humor. The jokes themselves will not be shown, only the link. Follow the link if you want to see what the joke is. For more information on this, see the Contribution of Humor section.

New this month: A Spotlight on Bill Stebbins. Coming in the next few months Spotlights: July - Terry Galan, August - Paul Benoit, September - Les Pourciau.

  • Bill has been our Top Contributor for 13 of the last 17 months and is
consistentantly in the Top 5. Here is information about him, in his
    own words.

I work for Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY where my title is
Associate Director for Transportation & Mail Services. That means I
have some responsibility for just about everything that goes on in
the department, but my main areas of responsibility are
    Accounting/Finance/Budget/Capital Projects and Computing. (Guess
that blows the stereotype of money folks and bean counters having no
    sense of humor, eh? :-)

I have always enjoyed jokes and have always had a propensity for
remembering them. I began collecting them many years ago, and used
to send them along to friends. They kept bugging me to do more with
them, and that eventually led me to start a jokelist, and eventually
to create my web site (http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/bs16/)
where I currently have over 8,400 jokes posted (along with assorted
other things). I get them from friends, acquaintances, and such who
send them to me in eMails all the time. (Some are from HUMOR as
well, of course). My jokelist subscribers send me stuff as well. I
have always felt that humor is a very important facet of life, and do
all I can to spread it around. Life's too short not to have fun, and
    enjoy oneself.

And finally, the one feature which has been featured in all
Traffic Reports, the contribution of Humor. Since, I am not a
real regular contributor, I will not be providing new Humor.
Instead, I will provide a joke from the archives. It will be at
least 14 months old, so most of you won't remember it. I
will only provide a link to the joke, not the actual joke, although I
will provide the Subject line (Topic). Since there are now HTML
versions of all Digests, it will point to the joke itself.

My contribution of Humor from the Archives:
